COVER REVEAL: Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins

Hello, blog readers!

Today, I have another awesome cover reveal for you guys! This time it's for Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for this one! More Kaidan and Anna! If you haven't checked out the Sweet trilogy, you really need to! You can read my reviews of Sweet Evil and Sweet Peril to hear more of my thoughts. Now, without further ado, the awesome (and matching!!) cover for Sweet Temptation!

Bad boy Kaidan Rowe has never wanted for anything - money, popularity, musical talent...hot girls - but seducing them is part of his duty as a Nephilim, slave to the demon Dukes. As the son of the Duke of Lust, Kaidan has learned his father's ways, becoming a master of passion, a manipulator of chemistry. Disobeying his father would mean certain death. Thankfully for Kaidan, he's good at his job. And he enjoys it.

Until he meets Anna Whitt - sweet, smart, feisty, and inexplicably good - the one girl seemingly immune to his charms. The daughter of a guardian angel and a fallen one, she has a certain power over him, on that makes him wish for more than he could ever deserve.

Determined to save all the Neph from their dark lives as the influencers of sin, Anna joins forces with Kaidan to overcome the demons' oppressive ways. In the light of her affections, Kaidan must undergo his toughest test of all, a battle of the heart.

Sensual and swoon worthy, this companion volume to the acclaimed Sweet Evil series from New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins, told from the perspective of the irresistibly sexy and mysterious Kaidan Rowe, gives readers revealing insights into his struggle, his intense connection to Anna, and most of all, the true emotions that drive him.
SO EXCITED, GUYS. Sweet Temptation comes out SEPTEMBER 8TH!

Review: Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

Title: Sweet Peril (Sweet Evil #2)
Author: Wendy Higgins
Publisher: Harper Teen
Release Date: April 30th 2013
Source: Purchased

My Rating: 4.5/5

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Guys, I'm obsessed with the series. Obsessed to the point where every time I walk by them at work, I smile. That I feel the urge to hug them at random moments. This series has stolen my heart, and I could not be happier about it.

The Sweet Trilogy are books I simply love with abandon. I devour the story in one sitting and am desperate for more after. They have an addictive quality to them. I just can't get enough! Wendy Higgins writing always keep me interested and excited to see what's going to come next. Sweet Peril was no exception. Once I picked this book up, there was no way I was letting it go until it was done. Even when I had to put it down it was pretty much all I could think about!

The best part about this series is, without a doubt, the relationship between Anna and Kaidan. I mean, here is one couple to seriously love. They put me through the wringer emotionally, but I love them both to bits. Anna with her resilience and her heart and Kaidan with his sexy banter and his caring make me want to read more and more. There were just SO MANY sweet, swoon-worthy scenes with the two of them in this book, I was a mess. I went from smiling, to shaking the book, to hugging it with happiness. These two are just awesome. But, they're not the only awesome characters in this series! I adore all the side characters (well, I don't adore the Dukes but that's a given) and love how they all have their distinct personalities. They're a strong bunch, and I'm so proud that they're willing to risk so much to have a better life.

I have to say though, Sweet Peril did fall into the "second book" trap where there wasn't a lot of plot progression, just a lot of set up for the final book. But, that actually ended up being okay because instead of there being lots of plot progression, there was lots of relationship progression. We really got to see Anna and Kaidan shine in this book, and saw their relationship move to another level. It was a very character driven second book and I thought it was just what the series needed. The story did keep me on my toes though, with a sense of foreboding permeating the whole book. I knew it was setting up for something big and I'm very nervous to see what happens next. The only thing that made me mad about this book was realizing I'm going to have to wait forever until I get to read Sweet Reckoning. Like, the wait for this book might legitimately drive me crazy.

Sweet Peril was exactly what I expected it would be: awesome, addicting, and completely heart-warming. This is one heck of an awesome series, and I'm going to be so sad to see it all end! If you haven't read them yet, pick them up! Its a great series to read on these long, hot, summer days!

Waiting On Wednesday (43): Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine, in which bloggers talk about the books they are most eager for!

If you read my gushing-love-filled review of Sweet Evil, you'll know that I am a huge fan of this series. There's been a lot of fallen angels books out there, but Sweet Evil has such an original take on it. And these characters! Oh man, these characters are just fantastic. I actually pre-ordered this book, something I never do, because I'm really just that excited about it.

Sweet Evil was addicting and I cannot wait to get my next fix with Sweet Peril!

Cover Reveal: Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

I'm so happy to be participating in the cover reveal of Sweet Peril the second installment in the Sweet trilogy by Wendy Higgins! Well, I know you don't want to read me talking! You just want to see the cover! Well...here it is!
Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a claim.

Um, wow. That's a pretty, pretty cover. I also love that it matches the Sweet Evil cover! It has a really foreboding atmosphere and it's making me a bit nervous for the book! From the dark, distressed forest, the red sky and smoky scene this cover is both magical and dark. Also, Anna doesn't look so happy on this cover. She's got this fierce light in her eyes and looks like she's out for a fight. And Kaidan looks almost...lost. Man, I need this book. I'm already over analyzing the cover! What do you guys think?

Sweet Peril is out April 30th, 2013 from HarperTeen! Also, Sweet Reckoning the third book in the Sweet trilogy is slated for spring/summer 2014!

If you haven't checked out Sweet Evil, you really should! I adored the book, and couldn't stop reading it! Check out my review here.
